About Us

As a technology professional, I know first hand that a good career made in technology. I started Geekology, a non-profit because I believe that technology is a key skill that will provide a lifetime of security and a good income for anyone.

With Geekology we focus on underserved segments such as Vets, women, retirees, anyone that is not a typical profile of a techie. We believe it is never too early or late to learn these valuable skills. The Geekology mission to help non-techies understand, access, and learn the technology skills that will better their lives. We teach valuable skills such as how to develop websites, to repair hardware, or learning how to automate systems in the home.

An education in technology is always free to all accepted for enrollment. However, Geekology is not just about education and skills training. We also want the underserved community to have access to world-class technology solutions at just a fraction of the price they would pay elsewhere. We do this by eliminating the $150-an-hour service call and the $700 laptop fix that consumers might find elsewhere. Our IT expertise is served up by our Geekology students and always overseen by our technology experts, so everyone can have confidence in our services. We even sell a variety of refurbished equipment at deeply discounted prices so no one is priced out of the market for computers and other equipment.

What we’re doing is building is a small army of people confident about technology who can accomplish things themselves, who know what tech stuff should cost, and who are excited about sharing their knowledge with everyone.  If this sounds good to you, let me know.  We’re always ready for new students, new ideas, and new contributors.  Together, we can make Geekology the solution to a whole host of problems.

I know that if someone has the desire to learn technology and succeed at making it work for them – instead of the other way around – they can do it.  Using our non-profit model it won’t cost the students a thing, and consumers and business will benefit with tech supplies and services at previously unheard-of prices.  We’re replacing the $30,000 price tag on a technical education with hands-on learning and real world experience that simply cannot be bought.
